Kintsugi (金継ぎ, "golden joinery") is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with urushi lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

Kintsugi has a very distinctive and beautiful look. Here in the designer toy realm, Ryan at Ophelia Toys has developed a kintsugi-esque style of painting on vinyl and resin. In this release, Gerald Okamura worked with Ophelia Toys to apply his kintugi style to Gerald's soft vinyl Tikumo. We think these may be the most beautiful Tikumos yet!
